Welcome to the class blog. You might think of this as a sort of "virtual side" of our discussion, the "corporeal" side being our classroom interactions.
In your response this week, try to offer some reflection on the social developments that Hitler was "processing" as he developed as an individual. A big issue we will discuss this week (and into the future) is what Kershaw is referring to by "structural" vs. "great man" approaches. Your post should take up one of the ways in which Hitler's individual development was bound up with the development of German and/or Austrian socio-political life as a whole. Among other things you may wish to consider: Vienna, cultural life, mass politics, modernity and its economic and social problems, Social Democracy, nationalism, anti-semitism, and more.
